
Alyssa Huang is a talented and multifaceted artist. She began piano lessons at the age of five with Ms. Elena Makarova at the Moscow Central School of Music in Los Angeles. At the age of eight, Alyssa made her Carnegie Hall debut as a first prize winner of the American Fine Arts Festival. By age 10, she had won top prizes in many piano competitions, including the Southwestern Young Musician Festival, CAPMT State Concerto Competition, Los Angeles Young Pianists Competition, Glendale Piano Competition, among others.
In December 2017, Alyssa won the AFAF International Piano Concerto Competition and joined the winners’ concert tour in Russia, performing at the Moscow State Art Gallery with the Moscow Kaluga Orchestra and at the Vladimir Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia. She currently studies piano with Dr. Hee-Seung Lee.
As a composer, Alyssa was a prizewinner in the California State Young Composers Competition and the 2014 Golden Key International Piano Composition Competition. She performed her original piece "Switzerland Impression" at Ehrbar Hall in Vienna, Austria.
A talented vocalist, Alyssa has been a student of Ms. Wendy Huang since 2012. Alyssa won first prize in the 2014 American Protégé International Vocal Competition and performed the Broadway musical “Memory” at Carnegie Hall in May 2015. She was also a prize holder in the 2016 We Sing Pop! international pop music song contest and 2018 MTAC South Coast VOCE solo voice competition. Alyssa recently was featured as a teenage singer on PBS’s newest edition of the TV talent show “Celebration of Music,” produced by KVCR.
In addition to her musical talents, Alyssa is an avid science lover and accomplished robotics competition winner. She was the team leader and programmer of the CA robotics team 8838B, which won the 2017 Robot Skills California State Championship and ranked 3rd in the 2017 Vex Robotics World Championship among 163 teams from around the world.
