Hanae Yoshida is a trombonist from Irvine, California, and is currently studying at The Juilliard School with Joseph Alessi, principal trombonist of the New York Philharmonic. Recently, she was named a 2017 National YoungArts Finalist, in which she was the only trombonist selected in the country. She also was a part of the National Youth Orchestra of the United States and toured Latin American countries with the famous Marin Alsop.

In addition, Hanae won first alternate in the Gilberto Gagliardi Tenor Trombone Competition, an international trombone competition.
She was mesmerized with the beauty of music at an early age through working with young musicians and professional artists she met through programs such as the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Trombone Workshop and the National YoungArts Foundation. She is very grateful for the endless support of her trombone teachers, Andrew Malloy and Phil Keen, family, and friends that they have given her throughout her musical career. Hanae hopes to continue her ambitions and never ending hope to improve as a musician and as an individual. She will never forget the importance of being thankful towards her mother, father, and sister who have always been by her side.
