
Josephine Chan, 14, is currently a scholarship student in the Pre-College Division at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music studying piano performance with Prof. Corey McVicar. Josephine has been a prizewinner of both national and international piano competitions including the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition, Enkor International Piano Competition, Pacific Musical Society Competition, San Francisco Chopin Competition and the American Protégé International Piano Competition. Josephine has given solo piano performances on both coasts of the United States. In 2016 she was invited to perform in the Ojai Music Festival honoring Pierre Boulez performing at both Libby Bowl in Ojai, CA and Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley, CA. Other solo performance highlights include a recital at the Lichtenstein Center in Pittsfield, MA, the Big Apple Building in Columbia, SC, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Fanfare Luncheon and Showcase Concerts , the Junior Bach Festivals and most recently she gave a concerto performance with the Brunensis Virtuosi Orchestra in Perugia, Italy. Josephine is also quite active in Chamber Music performing regularly in a trio as part of the Conservatory chamber music program. Her group has won awards in the Holy Name Young Artists and Enkor International Chamber Competition.
Josephine has taken part in the Tanglewood Young Artists Program, Southeastern Piano Festival and Perugia Music Fest. She has performed and participated in numerous master classes and coachings with many artists most recently with Garrick Ohlsson, Marina Lomazov, Ilana Vered and Melinda Lee-Masur.
