
Katherine Wong, age sixteen, is currently a senior at the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) in Santa Ana, California. In 2020, Katherine was recognized as a Panel Masters (Alternate) award winner in the MTAC Certificate of Merit Program and nominated as an Orange County Artist of the Year. Most recently, she was a top winner of the Bremen International Piano Competition (Japan) and North International Piano Competition (Sweden).
Katherine began playing the piano at age five. At eight years old, Katherine made her debut at the Lincoln Center in New York City and the first of her four appearances at Carnegie Hall by winning the 2012 AFAF Golden Era’s Romantic Music International Competition. Katherine has since won numerous international music awards in solo piano and performed at prestigious concert venues around the world, including:

Furthermore, Katherine won awards in chamber music and was selected for the Junior Chamber Music (JCM) Honors Group from 2015 to 2019. She performed with the Pacific Symphony Generation Orchestra in 2018 at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Katherine is also an accomplished Cellist and received the MTAC Certificate of Merit (Level 10). She especially cherished her moments performing community concerts at various senior centers in Orange County.
Outside of music, Katherine enjoys creative writing and working with children through volunteer community services. As the founder and leader of STEM THE ART, she works to integrate STEM and arts education by creating online curriculum and delivering distance learning packages to hospitals, schools, and orphanages.
