​​Mya Greene began playing viola and composing at her public charter school’s music program. She currently studies viola with Brian Chen and composition with Sean Friar at the University of Southern California. Mya has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and at the Maryinsky theater as a member of the National Youth Orchestra USA conducted by Valery Gergiev and Charles Dutoit. She has won the ASTA competition in area VI of the Greater Los Angeles Area (2012, 2014), the ASTA Greater Los Angeles Area Finals (2014), and was a finalist at the ASTA State level (2014). She has won a full scholarship to the Idyllwild Arts Chamberfest (2012, 2013, 2014) and was a semi-finalist in the 2014 Sphinx Competition. In the summer of 2015, she participated as a Sphinx exchange student in the European Music Campus, and attended the Composition Workshop at the Sunset Chamberfest. She has also collaborated with members of the Colburn Conservatory Orchestra in outreach and taught at the Para Los Ninos after-school outreach program.
