Katherine Wong is a sophomore at Orange County School of the Arts for their pianist program. She began her studies in piano at the age of five and is currently studying with Dr. Judy Huang. Katherine has won multiple awards at competitions including the Diamond Bar Performing Arts Challenge, American Fine Arts Festival, Arts Festival’s Golden Era of Romantic Music International Competition, MTAC Festivals, Southwestern Youth Music Festival, International Music Festival’s Debut International Piano Competition, American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition, and Santori Young Pianist Contest. Katherine performed at the Lincoln Center at the age of 8 and performed at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall at the ages of 9 and 11. She was also a member of the Junior Chamber Music honor group. Their trio was invited to perform at Balboa Island for the Classical Music Encounters of Orange County. In addition to piano, Katherine plays cello and was a member of the SCSBOA All Southern Honor Group Orchestra. Along with music, Katherine enjoys writing, reading, volunteering, and photography. She competes in Model United Nations and serves on the Pretend City Youth Leadership Council.
